QE Facilities Patient Transport Service Celebrates First Birthday.
April marks the first year of operation for QE Facilities patient transport services.
During our first year we have transported over 6000 patients from hospital to home covering over 40,000 miles.
Working closely with QEH Gateshead we believe that patient experience has been enhanced as we work hand in hand with patient flow team to ease bed pressures in the hospital, especially through our first winter period when we were faced with extreme weather dealing with the beast from the east.
PTS Co-Ordinator Michael Gray Commented,
"The team have settled in quickly and are responding enthusiastically to the new service and the challenges that we face providing a quality and efficient service working alongside the patient discharge lounge here at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital".
QEF PTS operate 365 days a year 10am-8pm Monday-Friday and 12pm-8pm on weekends and bank holidays.
